The Lewisburg Police Department and Lewisburg Emergency personnel responded to a report of a wreck involving a van and a motorcycle at the Walgreen’s intersection in Lewisburg on North Ellington Parkway at approximately 1:10 pm Tuesday (July 26th).
According to the police report, Andrea Childress of Lewisburg, driving a Toyota Minivan turned left from North Ellington Parkway onto Verona Road failing to yield the right of way to Cory Burns of Chapel Hill who was driving a Honda motorcycle driving southbound on North Ellington Parkway.
Witness, Charles Walker of Ardmore, stated in the report that the van driven by Childress turned in front of the motorcycle making impact with Burns. Upon impact, Burns was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road. Childress immediately stopped her vehicle.
Local fire and Rescue and EMS personnel attended to Burns at the scene of the wreck. He was later transported to the Vanderbilt Hospital by air. His condition is unknown at the time of this report.
