The Marshall County Recycling Hub located at 611 Hawkins Drive in Lewisburg will be collecting household hazardous waste which is defined as any corrosive, flammable, toxic, or reactive materials used in your home, for your truck or car, or garden, lawn, and pool that is unwanted or unusable between 8 am and noon. This is a free service. All you have to do is bring your unwanted and unusable materials to the Center.
Items that will be collected include but are not limited to:
- Household cleaners such as drain cleaners, oven cleaners, disinfectants
- Home Maintenance Chemicals such as paint thinner, wood preservatives, adhesives, strippers and removers
- Household items such as fingernail polish remover, pool chemicals, medicines and drugs, aerosol spray cans, mercury thermostats and thermometers, fluorescent bulbs, needles and sharps in a puncture-proof container only!
- Lawn and Garden items such as herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizer
Automotive products such as fuel additives, grease and rust solvents, refrigerants, starter fluids, coolants
NO medical or infectious waste will be accepted. NO explosives, ammunition, radioactive will be accepted including smoke detectors or empty containers.
This collection is for homeowners only. No waste will be accepted from schools, businesses, farms or churches. If you are a business you can call for an appointment at 615-643-3170 to request a price quote and to schedule an appointment time.
