Office of the Director of Schools
An incident involving 4 students occurred at Marshall County High School on Monday, November 12, 2012, and was handled promptly by administrative and school staff. Students involved have been dealt with according to the district’s policies and procedures and no further incidents have occurred at MCHS since that time.
The school was placed on lock down at the time of the occurrence and then released. Since that time a lock down has not been necessary due to inappropriate student conduct. While rumors have persisted, students, teachers, and staff have continued to learn in a safe and secure environment with their peers at Marshall County High School.
Reports of a neighborhood shooting have affected attendance today at MCHS. Parents who feel in the best interest of their child may have chosen to keep his/her student at home. The vast majority of students are in attendance at MCHS.
