|Marshall Medical Center To Host Free “Foot Care for Diabetics” Seminar|
LEWISBURG, Tenn. – Marshall Medical Center (MMC) continues a series of free diabetes-related seminars with a program on Tuesday, December 11. The seminar, titled “Foot Care for Diabetics,” will begin at 6 p.m. in the main conference room at MMC.
According to the American Diabetes Association, approximately 60% to 70% of those with diabetes have nervous system damage, or neuropathy. Diabetic nerve damage can lessen a person’s ability to feel pain, heat, and cold and can prevent a diabetic from feeling a foot injury.
At the upcoming seminar, Dr. Chuck Peter, a podiatrist on the MMC medical staff, will discuss the importance of proper foot care for people with diabetes. Topics will include simple foot care steps that diabetics can take to help prevent ordinary problems from becoming serious complications.
All seminars are free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested by calling 359.6241, extension 3305.
