The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting sobriety roadside safety checkpoints during the weeks of February:
2/1/13 U.S. Hwy 31-A at the 32 mile marker in Marshall County
2/3/13 State Route 50 at the 2 mile marker in Marshall County
2/8/13 State Route 50 at the 2 mile marker in Marshall County at 11 a.m.
2/13/13 State Route 64 West at the 2 mile marker in Marshall County at 8 p.m.
2/14/13 State Route 99 West at the 2 mile marker in Marshall County at 9 p.m.
2/15/13 U.S. 431 South at the 19 mile marker in Marshall County
2/22/13 U.S. Hwy 431 at the 19 mile marker in Marshall County at 1 p.m.
2/23/13 State Route 50 at the 2 mile marker in Marshall County at 11 a.m.
Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injuries 305,000 others every year in the U.S. Troopers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Troopers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.
