Friday, February 1^st, Michael Farrar, owner of Farrar Bonding Company, announced his candidacy for the position of Mayor of the City of Lewisburg. 

Michael is not a native of Lewisburg, but has owned and operated his business and property on the Lewisburg Square for several years. He has made Lewisburg his home because he truly appreciates the engaged citizens of this community and the unequaled legacy of the people who make Lewisburg a great place in which to live, work, and raise a family. 

Farrar is passionate about being part of the bright future for Lewisburg and its citizens. He wants to open the Mayor’s doors and welcome public opinion and asks for the citizens of this fine city to contact him with your views and your ideas. He wants to encourage involvement and bring fresh ideas to the table. 

Mr. Farrar says he has 6 main priorities in his campaign as Mayor:

1. To exercise Fiscal responsibility and to strive to build a better community.
2. To build educational greatness by providing a diverse learning opportunity to every child and adult in Lewisburg.
3. To revitalize downtown Lewisburg and the Rock Creek Park areas of the city.
4. To promote lasting, sound economic development that will bring much needed tax revenues to the city.
5. To instill respect and civility in all public discourse.
6. To ensure the highest level of public services to all our residents through all the city departments.
