|Tornado Confirmed In Lincoln County Sunday the 17th|
The National Weather Service in Huntsville has confirmed that an E–F–Zero tornado touched down in Lincoln County during storms that went through the area Sunday night.
An area near the town of Howell sustained wind damage from 85 mile-per-hour winds. The tornado track was six-tenths of a mile long and 25 yards wide. The N-W-S survey was completed by a team of meteorologist Tuesday morning.
E-F-Zero tornados are at the bottom of the scale from zero through five which classifies the severity of such storm events with five being the most rare and most severe.
