March 25, 2020
Jacob Sorrells, Director of Schools in Marshall County released this information about the continuation of the school’s suspension on Wednesday, March 25th:
• Return Date- Following the guidance from Governor Lee, Marshall County Schools will be closed through April 24th. It is our hope that we can return to school on April 27th. If we can’t return on the 27th we will let you know in advance.
• 180 Days of Instruction- The 180-day requirement has been waived. Any days out beyond our stockpiled days will not be made up.
• Testing / Accountability- Testing is not required this year and will not be figured into our accountability for students, teachers, schools, or districts. Even if offered Marshall County Schools will not participate in state testing this year.
• Lunch- We will continue to serve lunch at CES, WES, and CHES through Spring Break and every day that we are closed.
This is an ongoing situation and any questions should be directed to the Director of Schools or your school board member.
