Thursday, December 2nd, Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office along with the Chapel Hill Police Department responded to request for assistance from School Resource Officers and School Officials to two totally separate threats of School Violence.
One at Delk Henson Elementary School and one at Forrest High School. In both incidents the suspects were identified within minutes and taken into custody.
Both students had used a social media platform to make threats involving a gun at school. Both students were charged with their suspected crimes and later released to a parent.
There was never a gun at either school! No guns were located during a search of the students or their property.
The Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the staff and school resource officers at both schools for their quick response to the situation.
Again, both students/suspects have been identified and charged and there were no guns found on or near school property or the suspects.
