Lewisburg Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Robbery at Marathon Gas Station
LEWISBURG, TN – On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Lewisburg Police officers responded to a reported assault at the Marathon Gas Station located at 1535 Mooresville Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered that 34-year-old Paresh “Prince” Patel had been the victim of a robbery-homicide.
Patrol officers secured the crime scene and contacted detectives and administrative personnel to assist with the investigation. Early leads, including surveillance footage recovered from the scene, provided images of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. Investigators entered the vehicle information into the department’s License Plate Reader (LPR) system, which quickly produced registration information.
Further investigation and a positive identification from the Tennessee Department of Probation and Parole and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office led to the identification of the suspect as David Theopolis Hamilton, age 50, of Lewisburg, TN. Hamilton is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history. With the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), detectives tracked Hamilton to the Budget Inn in Pulaski, TN.
With the support of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Pulaski Police Department, and the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officers apprehended Hamilton without incident.
Hamilton has been charged with criminal homicide and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he is being held without bond. Additional charges are expected pending review by the District Attorney’s Office.
The swift apprehension of the suspect was made possible through the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies. We thank the TBI, Giles County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pulaski Police Department for their swift and coordinated efforts in helping apprehend the suspect.
The case remains active as investigators continue to gather evidence and review details with prosecutors. We encourage anyone with any information regarding the incident to contact the department at (931) 359-3800 or (931) 359-4044.
