On Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at approximately 9:30 am Columbia Police Department and Columbia Fire and Rescue responded to the area of the Duck River near the Hwy 31 bridge for a possible deceased person in the water. Upon arrival, emergency personnel were able to remove the person from the water and confirmed as an eighteen-year-old male from Columbia and next of kin have been notified.
This is currently an active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
