City Council Votes To Terminate Haislip in Special Called Meeting

A special called meeting of the mayor and Council of the City of Lewisburg was held Tuesday, October 7th at 4pm. At first a time of public comments and citizen input lasted several minutes. After that concluded a motion was made and seconded to terminate Lewisburg City Manager Roy “Bam” Haislip. After several council members had a discussion period, the roll was called and the motion passed by a 3 to 2 vote.

The purpose was two-fold, first to talk about new intakes with the hope of finding their rightful owners and second, to help find adopters by describing all of our current residents in detail. The results have far exceeded our expectations, and thanks in a big way to our radio exposure our adoption rates have increased significantly. Thank you to the entire staff at WJJM, and our sponsor, Veterinary Services of Chapel Hill…together we are saving the lives of precious fur babies."
