Homicide Investigation Leads to Arrest

LEWISBURG, TN – On Saturday, August 9, 2025, at approximately 8:52 a.m., Lewisburg Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Maple Street in reference to a possible death.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female with apparent traumatic injuries. The victim was identified as 51-year-old Wendy L. Lucas. Detectives from the Lewisburg Police Department responded to the scene and initiated a thorough investigation.

As a result of their investigative efforts, Gary L. McCormick, age 66, was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Homicide. McCormick is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail. He will appear before the Marshall County General Sessions Court at a later date.

The investigation remains active. The Lewisburg Police Department urges anyone with additional information related to this case to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at (931) 359-3800 or (931) 359-4044.
