LEWISBURG, Tenn. — At the Marshall County Joint Economic and Community Development Board’s first quarterly meeting of 2026, Marshall County Mayor Mike Keny recognized local volunteer Naomi Hopper of Lewisburg as the county’s recipient of the Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award. This prestigious honor celebrates Tennesseans who demonstrate outstanding commitment to community service and volunteerism.
Hopper has spent the past five years making a significant impact through her work with HOPEtown’s annual “Wrap-It-Up” event. Dedicated to ensuring teens in Marshall County are not forgotten during the holiday season, she has raised more than $18,000 to provide Christmas gifts for local youth.
“Teenagers are often overlooked during the holiday season, so they have been who the Lord consistently lays on my heart during the holiday seasons,” Hopper shared.
Through the Wrap-It-Up event, families are invited to select gifts for their children at no cost, helping ease the financial burden many face during the holidays. Hopper’s ongoing dedication has allowed HOPEtown to expand its reach and continue serving community members in need.
“Naomi’s compassion, drive, and commitment to serving young people perfectly represent the spirit of the Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award,” said Mayor Keny. “Her work has touched countless families, and Marshall County is proud to honor her.”
Naomi will also be honored at the statewide Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards banquet in Franklin, Tennessee on March 8.
