The Marshall County Office of Emergency Management in partnership with the National Weather Service and TEMA encourages residents to prepare for severe weather threats during this week.
*Preparedness starts now before the storm.
*Flooding can happen fast.
*If you hear thunder, you’re close enough to be struck.
*Do you know your safe place?
*If you have a storm shelter, is it registered with our office?
*Take every warning seriously.
*Don’t rely on just one alert method.
*Secure outdoor objects.
Charge your mobile devices before the storm and unplug all chargers during the storm.
Plan for pets.
Local Emergency Management Director Steve Calahan reminds everyone that communities that are prepared for severe weather are more resilient. Tennessee experiences a range of severe weather throughout the year, so being prepared for potential emergencies and knowing how they could affect your area will make a difference.
