The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, in a successful collaboration with the Chapel Hill Police Department, has recovered more than $25,000.00 in stolen goods following a targeted investigation.
THE INVESTIGATION
The case began when the Chapel Hill Police Department located several suspicious items on a property adjacent to 2245 Highway 99. Through diligent field work, CHPD officers were able to trace the items back to an owner who was out of state at the time. The owner confirmed the property had been stolen from his residence on Finley Road.
Upon receiving this information, the Chapel Hill Police Department contacted the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
THE RECOVERY
Utilizing the leads provided, MCSO investigators obtained and executed a search warrant for the property at 2245 Highway 99, where a significant cache of additional stolen property was located. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be over $25,000.00.
ARRESTS & CHARGES
Two subjects found in possession of the property, Owen Woodard and Hunter Eagle, were taken into custody. Both have been charged with:
• Possession of Stolen Property over $10,000.00
